A LITTLE ABOUT OUR COMPANY AND OUR DEDICATION
We have been in business for over 35 years and have been chasing Sturgeon for more than 45 years. It is our love for these great prehistoric fish that is the foundation of our success and out motivation for of bringing thousands of guests to our area every year.
Our team of guides are handpicked and this has taken many years to achieve the best team on the rivers and have a combined time of over 400 years dedicated fishing experience. Their dedication to fishing and the outdoors as well as your personal adventure is at the top of their concern. Each and every day fishing with our team you will have the opportunity to fish with experts who work hard all year long to ensure they will help you to exceed your fishing expectations. We know that you have planned for this trip to be a success and we want to ensure that we give back to you 110%.
With our company we offer unparalleled service to our guests, we take the time to get to know our guests and what they want out of their fishing vacation. Our boats our limited to the number we have as a company and we do not job out other guides that are not serious like our team. This is a 12 month a year run business and we simply want you to have the best fishing experience possible. Once this is accomplished, we will grow on that return business for many years to come.
Our policy is simple; we want you to have the best fishing experience in our area possible with the best team that will exceed your fishing expectations. Our business has been built on repeat clientele from over 35 years of being in business and great word of mouth referrals.
Our team has been involved in tagging and monitoring efforts since 1995 when Sturgeon were closed to retention. Since the closure we have helped to collectively tag more than 46,000 Sturgeon and have scanned in excess of 90,000 Sturgeon. In 1995 we were honoured to have tagged the largest Sturgeon in the program at nearly 3.5 meters in length. Beyond this tagging program, we have also participated in hook and mortality studies documented by Government Agencies. These studies indicated that the catch and release sport fishery has a less than 1 % mortality rate.
All sturgeon are measured, scanned and tagged with PITT tags before being released unharmed back into the wild. These fish are for all the future generations to share and to be amazed by, we must protect them and handle them with respect always. All guests can handle and tag sturgeon when on our boats with our professional guides, it is great to be a part of this and most take a real sense of satisfaction when leaving after each day with these fish.
Guiding is our life. We live eat and breathe fishing 365 days per year.
The least expensive trip is not always your best choice. For many small guiding operations in our area, guiding is a summer or occasional job; they entertain clients when they have time. This can be problematic as these guides are not on the water enough or consistently enough to know the River and stay on top of the “hot spots”.
Our team is on the water year round. We know where and when the fish are biting; we also know and fish many areas many other outfitters would never dream of fishing. Our consistency and commitment means that guests who choose Great River Fishing Adventures the best possible fishing adventure, year round.
At Great River Fishing Adventures, we provide our guest with the best gear available on the market to all our guests; great, clean and reliable gear is key to successful fishing trips. No need to bring along cumbersome equipment that could be lost during travel.
We take you and your fishing adventure seriously, and this is exemplified in our 85% re-book rate.
OUR BOATS AND EQUIPMENT
CUSTOM RIVER JET BOATS
Great River Fishing Adventures’s fleet of 20 custom welded river jet boats ranging from 21′ to 25′ ft have been expertly designed to withstand the various demands of our local rivers. Our boats can run in as little as 2’ft of water and can reach speeds in excess of 45mph. They are truly magnificent river machines.
To protect you from the elements each boat boasts a full walk-through windshield and a fully enclosed custom removable top. Although they have sitting available for 5-6 passengers, we recommend that groups stick to 4 anglers/ boat as this provides the most comfortable fit. There is also plenty of storage space for your lunches, coolers, and your daily catch.
“When you fish with us, you can be assured you’ll be fishing with the finest name brands in the tackle industry”
FISHING EQUIPMENT AND TACKLE
Although we supply all tackle and equipment on our fishing excursions, one is more than welcome to bring their favourite tackle and equipment.
